Huge press interest is accompanying the launch today (November 3rd) of the new-look Pinky & Perky Show from PPC Enterprises.
The show will begin its 52-episode run from this afternoon at 5.45pm on CBBC. Aimed at six to 11 year-olds, the series features the voice talents of Kevin Bishop, from Channel 4's The Kevin Bishop Show, among others.
International TV sales are being handled by ITV Worldwide and the show is also due to go out on France 3 last this year, plus ABC in Australia in 2009. Sales have also been confirmed in the Nordics.
Licensing interest has also been strong. Martin Yaffe is developing toys and merchandise for boys aged five to nine, while a Nintendo DS handheld game is due to launch in time for next Easter. Several more licensees are also in discussions for product launches throughout 2009.
"With Pinky & Perky we've got the enviable mixture of a classic brand with a 21st century makeover, which is already producing huge press interest," said Mark Hurry, legal and commercial director at PPC Enterprises. "The show is going to be a massive hit and the licensing potential for this property is just phenomenal."
