In the wake of this bank holiday’s international Star Wars Day, Vanity Fair has unveiled the first real look at The Force Awakens' villain, Kylo Ren.
Until now, the cloaked bad-guy has only been glimpsed wielding the cross-hilted lightsaber in the first teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
A moody Adam Driver can now be seen sporting the full sith garb in Vanity Fair’s image by Annie Leibovitz, which describe’s Driver’s characters as ‘commanding two snowtroopers loyal to the evil First Order on the frozen plains of their secret base.’
Meanwhile, Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew took to Twitter during the unofficial day of Star Wars (May 4th) to voice a revelation that wouldn’t be lost in translation: revealing the identity of Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie’s character, Captain Phasma a First Order officer.
Vanity Fair also offered fans a rogues gallery of ‘galactic travelers, smugglers and other assorted riffraff,’ in the image taken by Annie Leibovitz, as well as sharing a photo of Rey (daisy Ridley) on set with director J.J. Abrams.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theatres on December 18th, with new merchandise scheduled to begin roll out on September 4th.
