Nickelodeon continues to build its presence across Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Russia, making three new appointments to manage its channels in those regions.
Alex Chien joins the team in London as head of Nickelodeon Emerging Markets, responsible for managing existing Nickelodeon channels in the region as well as focusing on further expanding the brand presence and developing it as a multiplatform entertainment experience for kids.
Meanwhile, Emma Thompson has been appointed to the newly created role of program and acquisition manager for Nickelodeon Emerging Markets. She will oversee all programming, scheduling and acquisitions for Nickelodeon in the region, reporting to Chien.
Additionally, Lisa Wakefield has been hired as marketing executive. She will be responsible for handling all marketing activity and creative across the region, working closely with local offices to ensure coordinated execution of brand marketing initiatives.

Meanwhile, MTV is to launch in Hungary and will be available to around 1.5 million households via cable and DTH platforms.
