Nick Jr brands get online makeover

Two of Nick Jrs flagship websites, Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go, have relaunched at

The aim of the relaunch was to create a more streamlined and engaging experience for pre-schoolers and their parents through an improved site structure and clearer navigation.

Nickelodeon UK collaborated with children's interactive production company Complete Control on the project.

The firm also redeveloped three sub-sections of the main Nick Jr website - Shows, Fun & Games and Make & Do.

Complete Control created a 'super footer' solution, a hidden text-based nav for all content, to ensure the best performance in search engines. This has resulted in traffic to the Dora the Explorer website increasing by 457 per cent since its relaunch.

Other properties to benefit from a similar update this month include Angelina Ballerina and Peppa Pig.

"Creating content that truly engages children is no easy task, but Complete Control has consistently delivered great creative treatments on all the projects Nickelodeon has commissioned, whilst keeping our needs as a commercial media company very much front of mind," said Roy Edmonds, digital director of Nickelodeon.

Traffic to the Nick Jr website increased by nine per cent in November to 27,875,321 page views, a new record. The number of visitors in December increased by 2.5 per cent on the previous month to 1,055,067, another new record high.

The Dora the Explorer microsite accounted for 25 per cent of all site traffic with over seven million page views.
