The Old Forge Nursery in Findern, Derbyshire has been crowned the winner of Nick Jr's Help Dora Help campaign, with strong local support helping them dominate the public vote.
The local group will receive £20,000 to build a log cabin housing sensory room, library, dancing studio and a space large enough for all of the children to take part in activities together.
A panel led by Nick Jr's Wake Up World Helena Dowling, alongside Nickleodeon UK representatives and partners including The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts, Dora Magazine and Chad Valley chose the finalists. Each was awarded discovery and learning equipment from Chad Valley, as well as a classroom visit from Dora the Explorer.
"The standard of the finalists was so high, that we were actually quite relieved that it was down to the public to decide the overall winner," said Tina McCann, MD of Nickelodeon UK. "We are very pleased that The Old Forge Nursery can now build new facilities which will create a lot more fun and educational opportunities for the children."
