Nickelodeon partners with Sony Music for Big Time Rush album

Firms backing release of TV group's debut album in the UK.

The debut album from boy band series Big Time Rush has hit shelves in the UK, with Nickelodeon teaming up with Sony Music.

The album topped HMV's pre-order enquiries in the week before release, according to Music Week, and hit number six in the UK mid-week chart just days after release.

Included on the album are hits from the band's TV show, plus six bonus tracks and a poster exclusive to the UK.

A promotional tour for the launch included gigs in Manchester and Northampton, signings at HMV stores across the country and appearances on TV shows such as Daybreak and radio shows on Kiss FM and Radio 1.

The album is already selling well in Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. It was released in the US last October, quickly notching up 500,000 sales and achieving gold status.
