Nickelodeon UK and Virgin Media have teamed up to bring the My Nick Jr, App to the UK.

The new personal programming service will enable parents to customise a playlist of programmes for the child.

My Nick Jr. App is now available to Virgin Media TiVo customers on large and extra large TV packages.

My Nick Jr. features 650 Nick Jr. episodes and includes titles such as Dora the Explorer, Bubble Guppies, Tickety Toc and Dinosaur Train.

Through the app, parents can create an individual profile for their child, allowing them to select prominent topics as well as set the duration for which they wish their child to watch Nick Jr programming.

Children can then rate the episodes they have watched and the app will choose future episodes to play accordingly. Parents will then be sent summary emails informing them of what their child has watched.

Scott Kewley, director of digital entertainment, Virgin Media, said: “We know out TiVo families are going to love the new My Nick Jr. app and we’re delighted to be the first TV platform to launch it in the UK.

“It is a fantastic addition to our app line-up providing a unique TV experience where children learn while having fun watching some of their favourite shows.”
