Priority programming includes Power Rangers Samurai, Planet Sheen, Bubble Guppies and Poppy Cat.

Power Rangers Samurai is new for Nickelodeon this spring. Following on from the iconic series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Samurai sees a fresh generation of Rangers.

The series is a fantastical live action series in which the Rangers work together as a team to battle evil and save the world.

Also new to Nickelodeon is CG-animated comedy series Planet Sheen. Executive produced by Steve Oedekerk (Bruce Almighty), Keith Alcorn (The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron) and Jim Hope (The George Lopez Show).

The show follows the intergalactic tale of Sheen Guevera Estevez; the hyperactive, attention-challenged kid from Nickelodeon’s show The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron.

Now in its 24th year, the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2011 returns on Sunday April 3rd, presented by actor/comedian Jack Black, with Nick UK presenters Jamie & Anna on the orange carpet for the pre-awards show.

New to pre-school channel Nick Jr for spring/summer is the CG animated Bubble Guppies. Set in an underwater world, the show follows a group of inquisitive pre-schoolers, who will help viewers discover and learn about their world through games, songs and adventure.

Another exclusive for Nick Jr is Poppy Cat, voiced by Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey) and based on the children’s books written and illustrated by Laura Jones. The animated series follows the imaginary adventures that a young girl called Lara creates for her cat Poppy.

Tina McCann, managing director, Nickelodeon UK, said: “Spring/summer 2011 sees one of the strongest new content slates in recent years for Nickelodeon UK, with exciting premieres such as Power Rangers Samurai, Planet Sheen, Bubble Guppies and Poppy Cat, along with new episodes of established hit shows.

"We believe this quality content will grow our audience and build our brand loyalty.”

In addition to these shows, new episodes of House of Anubis will air on Nickelodeon from May. The UK-produced series from Lime Pictures and Studio 100, which launched in February, had a strong launch on Nick UK alongside Victorious special Freak the Freak Out, ranking Nickelodeon as the number one children’s channel in the UK for Friday 25th February 2011.

Big Time Rush returns to screens this season with new episodes, complete with a cameo from Russell Brand. Building on 2010, Nickelodeon’s global partnership with Sony is going from strength-to-strength with the success of Miranda Cosgrove and iCarly, Victoria Justice and Victorious and now Kendall, James, Carlos and Logan from Big Time Rush.

There will also be new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants in Legends of Bikini Bottom. Whilst NickToons presents new stories from Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids, Gormiti and Fanboy & Chum Chum.

Nick Jr. will have different channel themes each month. Starting with Musical March. After Dora the Explorer’s tenth anniversary last year, the momentum continues to build in 2011 with new episodes and specials.

Returning for a third series, Yo Gabba Gabba will bring its unique blend of musical mayhem and special guests, with the new episodes featuring The Killers and The Flaming Lips.

Team Umizoomi also returns with new episodes from June. And watch this space for developments to later in the year.

This year, Nickelodeon is driving forward with exciting brand extensions, continuing the company’s ethos of 'being everywhere kids are'. Last month saw the launch of Nickelodeon magazine; a three-weekly publication for Nick fans. In May, the Nickelodeon Land theme park at Pleasure Beach Blackpool will open and the Nickelodeon Cruise is to set sail this summer with the Norwegian Epic All Access Cruise.

Nickelodeon’s Consumer Products team will be expanding its portfolio in 2011 with the addition of new properties Big Time Rush, Victorious, Winx Club and House of Anubis.
