Branded Nintendo Wii U toys look like they’ll be handed out with fast food meals at Burger King over the next few months.

A box has appeared on Burger King’s toy website, displaying the Wii U logo and the text “coming soon”.

The confirmation comes after a supposed US Burger King worker said the toys would launch on October 25th

It’s not yet confirmed what the toys will be or if they will somehow communicate with the Wii U’s tablet controller, but Burger King has previously released several Xbox 360 games featuring it’s ‘King’ character.

The Wii U supports Near Field Communication technology (NFC), which means its tablet controller can detect motion and objects placed onto the touch-screen. In theory, this would allow Skylanders-style toys to be placed on the controller, which kids could then play with in virtual form through their TV.
