Noddy goes mobile as Avanquest seals deal with Chorion

App being developed for iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets.

Avanquest Software, Chorion and France Televisions Distribution are all working together to bring the Noddy brand to mobile devices.

Noddy is already the number one pre-school video game in the French market, and Avanquest will develop this into an app for iPhone and iPad, plus Android smartphones and tablets.

"We had the opportunity to work on the Nintendo versions of the Noddy games, which were major commercial successes, both in France and in the UK," said Manuel Coelho, director of edutainment software and games for Avanquest. "At Avanquest, we have a great deal of experience in developing strong brands. We are pleased to be able to create new adventures for the favourite hero of very young children, for the first time on mobile platforms."

Lisa Macdonald, VP agent territories, EMEA at Chorion, added: "We are looking forward to providing a new interactive experience to our young audience in a very dynamic market. Avanquest has expertise and a proven track record in developing edutainment software and mobile apps, and France Television through their broadcast and online activities have a substantial platform to reach Noddy's audience."

Since going private last year, Chorion has quietly been building up its portfolio. Now it is ready to shout from the rooftops about its forthcoming line-up, which includes more Noddy activity, as well as the launch of Mr Men and Famous Five projects.
