Nottingham Forest has snapped up the licensing rights for the animated series Sammy & Co, thanks to a new deal with StudioCanal.

The company will manage the show in Iberia, and will be responsible for all of the show’s licensing, merchandising and promotional opportunities.

Sammy & Co has been broadcasted in Portugal on Canal Panda since February 2015, and in May it will come to Spain through CLAN.

The show focuses on the adventures of two turtles, known as Ricky and Ella and their friends Annabel the octopus and Pipo the butterfly fish.

Valerie Rolandez-Barrios, VP IP licensing and partnership at Studio Canal, said: “Ricky and Ella are getting more and more friends all over the World. We are delighted of this new adventure for Sammy & Co through this new partnership with Nottingham Forest.”

David Pérez Andrés, CEO of Nottingham Forest, added: “Sammy & Co is a fantastic adventure series under the sea, with unforgettable characters and aimed to a high preschool target.

“We are confident that thanks to CLAN, which begins airing in May, many Spanish children will be more interested in what happens in the oceans and their amazing inhabitants."
