Novel appoints children's brand manager

Former Oxford Limited exec, Kelly Henwood to lead the future development of firm's TV brands.

Novel Entertainment has bolstered its in-house team, hiring a new children's brand manager in the form of Kelly Henwood.

Henwood - who arrives from Oxford Limited, a subsidiary of the University of Oxford, where she managed the global licensing programme - will be responsible for co-ordinating a wide range of brand partners across a variety of product areas. This is as well as initiating marketing campaigns and cross promotional strategies.

She will work closely with CPLG, Novel's licensing agency, and international distributors, as well as expanding and consolidating the firm's online presence.

"Novel's brand activity has increased significantly and Kelly's appointment comes at exactly the right time to help grow our business further," said Mike Watts, co founder of Novel.

The company recently announced the co-production of a live action 3D movie of Horrid Henry with Vertigo Films, due for release in 2011. Novel also has a longstanding relationship with Cbeebies, having produced 130 episodes of The Roly Mo Show and 230 episodes of pre-school series The Fimbles.
