Last month it revealed it was heading to India, and now apparel and home brand Cherokee is making a move into Israel.
The company has signed an exclusive international agreement with Shufersal LTD, the largest retailer in Israel. The deal covers a wide range of categories including men's, women's and children's clothing, plus footwear, accessories and homeware.
"Cherokee will become a significant part of our clothing and home business, and we look forward to its launch in spring 2008," stated Effie Rosenhaus, CEO of Shufersal LTD. "The Israeli consumer looks for branded products and demands quality, comfort and added value. With the Cherokee brand, we will be able to more than satisfy our customers' needs."
Larry Sass, senior VP of new business at Cherokee, added: "Our expansion into Israel is another step in elevating our Cherokee 'World Brand' status. We are proud that our Cherokee brand is licensed in over 28 countries and over 4,000 locations.
"Currently we are exploring new Cherokee partnerships in most of the remaining major retail markets including Russia, Spain, Germany, France, Japan and Australia."
