A live stage show of pre-school hit Numberjacks is due to kick off in York in September.

Chris Ellis, one of the original creators of the TV show - which has been airing on BBC2 and Cbeebies for five years - has developed the stage show.

The aim of the TV show is to act as a building block for young children, helping them to learn about numbers, shapes and sizes. The Numberjacks are ten animated superheroes which solve problems for their special agent counterparts.

"We know that Numberjacks fans love to engage with the characters and the live show will really give them the opportunity to do just that," said Ellis. "Expect quite a bit of 'pantomime' and audience participation, together with the usual adventure, excitement and learning."

The live show begins at the York Grand Opera House on September 6th, taking in a number of towns before finishing on November 27th at Ipswich Regent Theatre.
