Last month's Surtex art and design show at New York's Jacob K Javits Center, enjoyed a boost in attendee numbers the organiser has revealed.

The event attracted nearly 6,000 attendees, all of whom were "very eager to do business" according to Penny Sikalis, GLM VP and show manager. There were 277 exhibiting companies, with the number of exhibitors increasing by 23 per cent this year.

Special 25th anniversary celebrations and announcements also upped the show's energy levels, Sikalis said.

The 2012 Surtex will take place between May 20th and 22nd in the same venue.
