Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products has inked a deal with ZDF Enterprises for the licensing and merchandising rights to Australian live action kids' TV show H20: Just Add Water in the UK and France.

The firm will exclusively represent the property across publishing, interactive (PC and console games), apparel, accessories, toys, games and paper products.

The licensing programme will roll out in the UK from this autumn, said Clare Piggott, VP of consumer products at Nickelodeon UK. First phase will begin autumn/winter and will be followed by a larger range of product launches in spring 2009.

The lines will target girls aged seven to 12.

"H20 has been a phenomenal ratings success for Nickelodeon UK and its incredible appeal to tweens and girls makes it an ideal property to translate into targeted consumer product categories," Piggott explained.

"Nickelodeon is the premiere kids' platform in the UK and we look forward to working with key licensing partners to bring this very special TV show to life."

H20 is already successful in Australia, enjoying strong sales through publishing and DVDs. Through an exclusive partnership, a fashion line, including apparel, footwear, bags, headwear, sunglasses and jewellery has also been launched.

Hair dryers, straighteners and seasonal confectionery are further categories which have been licensed for the programme launch.
