Oakley makes Transformers 3D glasses

The eyewear-firm produces another set of licensed 3D movie specs.

The limited edition Transformers Oakleys carry Autobot and Decipticon shield icons on either arm, and the custom Microclear bag features more art from the film.

Oakley CEO, Colin Baden, said: "Customers lucky enough to get their hands on this limited edition will have a rare collectible to commemorate a mind-blowing cinematic experience.

"The innovations ofthe Oakley 3D Gascan represent the state of the art. Our goal was to set the standard for optical performance in 3D, and we achieved it."

Oakley’s website is currently selling the officially licensed RealD glasses for $150 dollars, which is around £90.

LeeAnne Stables, Paramount Pictures’ EVP, worldwide marketing partnerships, said: "We are thrilled to have Oakley develop this product collaboration with Hasbro to bring even more excitement to audiences anticipating seeing this incredible first-ever Transformers film in 3D."

This isn’t the first film that Oakley has produced licensed 3D glasses for, having previously made a set for Tron Legacy.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon will open worldwide on June 29th.
