The game content for Peppa Pig: Theme Park Fun will expand on the formula established by P2 Games on its previous Peppa Pig console releases, by offering nearly twice as many activities for the same price.
Aimed at children aged three to seven, the new release will feature 18 games themed around the family’s day out at a theme park. The game features more interactive activities, enhanced graphics and animation.
Peppa Pig: Theme Park Fun also marks the beginning of a new partnership between P2 Games and Koch Media, who will be distributing the game nationwide.
The game will also be developed using a new firm, Strawdog Studios whose team has an extensive background in animating large scale feature films for studios such as Disney, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros.
The firm will be maximising cross-promotional opportunities with Paultons on Peppa Pig World and Entertainment One, which is planning to release a Theme Park-based DVD at the same time.
Gerry Whiteside, co-director of P2 Games, said: “We’re all incredibly excited to be collaborating with Entertainment One again on the release of Peppa Pig: Theme Park Fun which we believe will be our best Peppa Pig title to date.
"We plan to capitalise on the excitement surrounding the launch of Peppa Pig World this Easter and the numerous opportunities this will allow us to reach the ever increasing Peppa Pig fanbase.”
Peter Sleeman, co-director of P2 Games added: “The theme park idea is great source material for a family friendly game and we’re pleased to be welcoming on board new games developer Strawdog Studios who will be using their arsenal of creativity and animation skill to provide kids with an unforgettable interactive experience.
"We’re also delighted to be welcoming Koch Media as the distributor of this title and are confident that their strong network of retail distribution will be key to the game’s success at retail.”
Craig McNicol, MD of Koch Media, said: "We are delighted to be joining with P2 to help continue the phenomenal success of the Peppa Pig gaming franchise. It’s a commercial dream, and one we are looking forward to working hard to maintain and develop even further."
