The Adventures of Paddington Bear, Pingu and Sesame Street are each coming to a new Netflix-style platform called Hopster.
The children’s app will be offered with TalkTalk’s TV packages and will host shows targeted at pre-schoolers with a slew of programming and educational games to teach kids to code.
Hopster was launched in 2013 by Nick Walters, a former executive at the Nickelodeon owner, Viacom. The ad-free platform has been downloaded more than 2 million times.
TalkTalk is the first pay TV provider to tie up with the app, though it is understood that the start-up is in talks with others.
The platform announced its partnership with Sesame Workshop to bring Sesame Street content to audiences earlier this year. The collection includes short from sesame Street segments called Gloval Grover, Count TV and Best Friends.
Leila Ingram, head of learning at Hopster, said: “Hopster’s core mission of helping children learn while they play is, in many ways, like so much pre-school entertainment content, inspired by the incredibly high standards set by Sesame Street for nearly 50 years.”
Hopster subscriber can access the content as well as hundreds of further kids’ TV episodes, music, nursery rhymes and learning games.
