Paramount Licensing has signed a deal with Clothworks Textiles for a new fabric collection inspired by Grease.
Fabrics will be based on the film's logo and key art colour palette and will be hitting stores in February 2010. There will be eight co-ordinating fabrics, along with a free pattern designed with teens in mind. Retailers can also showcase the collection with a Lazy Girl Design's shoulder tote.
"Clothworks really understands the Grease brand and their own name is highly respected by the sewing, quilting and home arts sector worldwide," said Michael Corcoran, president of Paramount Consumer Products. "We are delighted to pioneer an evergreen property like Grease in this category with them."
Candice Hoffman, creative director at Clothworks, added: "Grease has become an integral part of the fabric of American culture. The advance response has been overwhelmingly strong, and we are looking forward to getting these fabrics into the hands of our customers to see what they can create with them."
