Paramount Licensing expands global reach

Firm hires three new agencies and seals two direct to retail deals to boost international presence.

Paramount has given its international licensing business a major boost.

The firm has hired three key licensing agencies - EXIM Licensing Group for Latin America, FremantleMedia Enterprises for Australia and New Zealand and Rubicon for the Middle East and North Africa.

The agencies will handle all properties and product categories represented by Paramount, including film properties currently in production and films in the studio's extensive library.

Paramount has also inked two significant direct to retail deals with international retailers Brazin Retail Group and H&M Stores.

"We are excited to increase our presence globally through these well-established, respected agencies," commented Ryan Gagerman, VP of international at Paramount Licensing. "Not only are they highly capable of tapping into Paramount's extensive library of titles, they are uniquely positioned to promote our upcoming slate of films.

"Additionally, we are very excited about these direct to retail relationships with Brazin Retail Group and H&M Stores, both of which are wonderful complements for our titles. We expect these to be the first of many to come."

Alicom has secured a deal with H&M to produce fashion tops for women based on Paramount's music-themed titles, while Brazin is manufacturing products that appeal to the college crowd for the Australian market.
