Parthenon Entertainment has appointed former Hit Entertainment senior VP and divisional CFO, Mike Shanks as the company's first managing director.
The news follows the recent company acquisition by Parthenon CEO, Carl Hall.
Shanks joins the firm with immediate effect and will be responsible for overseeing operations across its UK, European and Canadian offices. He will work closely with the executive management team, as Parthenon moves into the next phase of its expansion.
Shanks joined Hit in September 2000 and, during his time there, rose from financial controller to become senior VP and chief financial officer for the firm's global TV, production and consumer products divisions.
"What Carl and the team at Parthenon have achieved over the past seven years is outstanding," he commented. "I'm excited at the prospect of leading the team here and look forward to a challenging and rewarding time ahead."
CEO Hall added: "Having someone of Mike's calibre joining what is already an outstandingly creative and business-focused management team, is a real achievement for us. With his experience of working at the helm of one of the world's leading TV companies, I'm sure he will bring us even more success in the future."
