Pedigree teams with Letts for educational range

Publisher Pedigree has teamed with Letts to launch new range of educational titles.

The titles, using popular character brands, will focus on maths and english for ages five to seven years and seven to 11 years and pre-school learning.

Properties include Barbie, Angry Birds, WWE and Postman Pat and the new range will be available from June 1st 2015.

 “One in every ten children’s books sold is an education book in a sector that is worth around £39million a year and back to school is becoming more and more important for retailers,” said Matthew Reynolds, publishing and sales director at Pedigree Books.

“We quickly realised the sector had few well known licensed characters to bring fun learning for the kids, whilst still providing school’s content for the parents. This is now Pedigree’s USP and focus going forward.

"We dipped our toes into the educational market last year and were amazed by the result, as the level of sales completely surpassed our expectations.

“It is therefore an obvious decision to launch more titles and we have some very strong brands lined up. These will combine with solid educational content to provide books that kids enjoy reading and also help them during the crucial early years of learning.”
