Penguin Random House Children’s has detailed a new publishing partnership with Toca Boca.

Under the new deal, Toca Boca publishing will launch on Penguin Random House Children’s Ladybird imprint this year with two sticker scene titles, Toca Life: Holiday Super Sticker and Toca Life: Busy Day, Super Sticker Book.

Further publishing will arrive in 2019.

Toca Boca is an award-winning play studio that creates digital toys and products that kids across the world can relate to, read a statement from the firm. The firm has released 40 apps to date, which have been downloaded over 200 million times in 215 countries.

Leanne Gill, publisher for Ladybird Licensing, said: “Toca Boca is the perfect partner for Ladybird and I am delighted to be working with them on a new range of books. Toca Boca’s playful digital toys allow a child’s imagination to run free and our books will recreate that experience on the page, encouraging children to use their creativity to invent their own worlds and tell their own stories.”

Mathilda Engman, head of consumer products at Toca Boca, added: “We are excited to bring our first physical products to the UK together with Penguin Random House.

“Millions of British children are already playing with Toca Boca’s apps and we look forward to sharing more original and playful products with them. With Toca Life, we want to inspire children to express themselves and create their own stories and what’s a better way to do so than with sticker books that offer endless ways to play.”
