According to the latest data from Neilsen Bookscan, the Peppa Pig Activity Annual 2009 is the fifth best selling children’s activity annual in the UK.
The publication is a compilation of colouring, puzzles, craft, games and stories. It is published by the Ladybird division of Penguin Books and, since its publication in the first week of April, it has been selling an average of 1,800 copies a week. Other brands in the top ten included Star Wars, Shoot, Pokémon and In The Night Garden.
“As the list of names in the top ten shows, the activity annual market attracts many of the major players from across the spectrum of children’s brands,” said Eric Huang from Penguin Books. “We are delighted that the Peppa Pig Activity Annual has again performed so strongly in this highly competitive market.”
Andrew Carley, licensing manager at E1 Entertainment, added: “The success of the Peppa Pig Activity Annual is a tribute not only to the strength of the brand, but also to the care put into the book by Ladybird.”
