E1 Entertainment is partnering with national charity 4Children in a deal which will see Peppa Pig support a campaign to promote Sure Start family centres across the UK.
Today (February 9th) will see the character join charities, trade unions and parents at a media launch event hosted by Melinda Messenger to 'Shout for a Sure Start'. Politicians from each of the main parties will hear directly from parents why giving their children a sure start in life is their top priority.
To raise awareness of the work that goes on in Sure Start children's centres, 4Children will be targeting Peppa Pig's fanbase. The character will be appearing on marketing and promotional assets including a dedicated website, social networking pages and a specially designed Peppa Pig activity pack that children will be able to download for free.
Rebecca Harvey, marketing manager at E1, said: "Peppa Pig's focus on fun and laughter in family life is perfectly reflective of the work that Sure Start centres are trying to achieve and we will be supporting their efforts wherever possible to help them generate as much awareness as we can amongst families."
Anne Longfield OBE, chief executive of 4Children, added: "Sure Start Children's Centres are providing real help to families across the country. However, we know that there are families who have not yet discovered their local centre, so we hope that the association with a brand as popular as Peppa Pig will help to spread the word still further."
