Entertainment One has announced new developments for Peppa Pig in Asia.
New broadcast and licensing agreements have been signed that will see its pre-school property launch in Korea this year.
The multi award-winning animation series produced by Astley Baker Davies will air in Korea on the country's educational Broadcast System, and new episodes will begin broadcasting on the terrestrial channel this month.
Representing Peppa Pig's first line of Korean merchandise set to launch ahead of Christmas, licensing agent Cocoban also represents some of the biggest entertainment licenses in the industry, and hopes to utilise this experience to build a strong licensing programme in the territory.
eOne has also revealed today that a dedicated territory manager has been appointed to bolster the Peppa Pig brand's presence in the Asian market.
Daniela Flower brokered deals with EBS and Cocoban and will oversee broadcast and licensing across all Asian region, excluding Japan, for eOne's portfolio of properties.
Based in Hong Kong, Flower sealed broadcast deals for Peppa Pig in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand last year.
Flower also has a history of securing broadcast and licensing agreements for entertainment properties including Spiderman, Chuggington, Bob the Builder and Thomas and Friends.
Oliver Dumont, MD of Entertainment One Family, said: "Peppa Pig's humour crosses cultural boundaries and our partnership with such a strong and focused broadcaster as EBS will provide fantastic exposure for the brand in Korea.
"Asia is a key strategic market for Peppa and Daniela's impressive network of contacts will help us make inroads there that will take the brand to the next level."
