PlayKids TV app expands to 24 new countries with 20 new shows

New shows from Hit entertainment and DHX Media in Thomas and Friends, Barney, Bob the Builder and more

PlayKids TV, the app allowing kids to watch their favourite TV shows on the move, has added 20 new shows from DHX Media and Hit Entertainment.

With shows now ranging from the likes of Barney and Friends, to newer titles like YoGabbaGabba and Bob the Builder, the app has now also expanded into 24 new countries.

France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Mexico and every country in Latin America are among the new territories to embrace the app.

Movile, the company behind the TV streaming app, is celebrating the success of the last six months, in which it achieved a total of 1.5 million downloads across the US, Brazil, Canada and the UK.

With a plethora of new licensed content, including Arthur, Thomas and Friends and Strawberry Shortcake, the firm is looking to double its audience in the new year.

Eduardo Henrique, Movile's co-founder and head of US operations, said: "With the addition of our educational activities in the app and these popular shows for children, we are continuing to curate the perfect mix of educational, fun and well produced content.

"We strive to bring our high-quality, interactive user experience to children all over the world, and we are excited to launch amazing new shows in many new countries today."

Targeting children aged five and under, Play Kids aims to offer an intuitive and easy platform for young children to navigate by themselves, choosing the shows to watch, even when offline with no internet connection.
