Jetix Europe has struck a deal with Pokémon USA to air the eagerly awaited 11th series on its channels across EMEA.
As part of the deal, the series - which is called Pokémon: Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension - will begin on Jetix in the UK for the first time. The agreement also gives Jetix Europe pay TV rights, as well as VOD rights in certain territories for the 52x22-minute series.
"We are excited and honoured to have struck this partnership with Pokémon USA," said Marc Buhaj, senior VP of programming at Jetix Europe. "Pokémon is one of the most iconic animated series ever and is loved by kids across Europe.
"It's a coup for our audience that we have secured pay TV rights particularly in the UK, where we're sure it's going to be a big hit with Jetix viewers."
Olivier Marmillot, head of TV, home entertainment and digital content at Pokémon UK, added: "This pan-European partnership deal is an extension and result of our successful partnership over the years in countries such as France, Netherlands and Spain. We believe Jetix's profound knowledge and commitment to Pokémon will translate to a winning broadcast both for us and the fan base of millions of kids across Europe."
