Popular emoticon Tuzki gets full licensing treatment

Already an internet and instant messaging hit, the black and white line drawing of a rabbit known as Tuzki is to make the leap into licensing proper.

TurnOut Ventures has hired Click Licensing as the sole agent to build Tuzki across Greater China.

Click will manage all product and promotional licensing - as well as premium and publishing development - across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. The firm is already eyeing up areas including consumer electronics, apparel, accessories, sporting goods, home furnishings, gifts and novelties.

"Tuzki engages today's net generation with innovative and creative digital products," said TurnOut Ventures' general manager, Benjamin Grubbs. "Our partnership with Click expands on this by allowing Tuzki fans to extend their digitial lifestyle via tangible products where they can experience the mischief and mystery inherent in the Tuzki brand."

Marilu Corpus, CEO of Click Licensing Asia, added: "Tuzki is a unique property that is very relevant to today's young consumer; expressive and always connected."
