Following in the footsteps of licensed mobile phone offerings from the likes of Prada and Ferrari, Porsche and BlackBerry maker RIM Technologies have collaborated on a new smartphone.

It features an exclusive Porsche user interface, while the Porsche font features throughout the design and on the QWERTY keyboard.

If the Porsche design, $2,000 price tag and limited availability wasn’t exclusive enough, the P’9981 comes with premium, exclusive BlackBerry Messenger PINs so elite Porsche BB users can easily identify one another.

It will be available from Porsche Design stores later this year.

Meanwhile, Swiss watch maker TAG Heuer has unveiled its own luxury Android smartphone.

Dubbed the Racer, it has a reported price of €2,500 and adopts TAG’s signature design with a chunky, tough frame and exposed screws.

TAG describes the design as "avant-garde both for its ergonomic design and its very contemporary elegance. Motion, purity, curve, precision, a shimmering dynamism in its form and silhouette."
