E1 Entertainment is to handle the licensing for the UK version of Hi-5.
The company - which picked up the rights from Hi-5 Operations - is now actively seeking licensing partners as the show's popularity grows in the UK. It began airing four times a day on Cartoonito in November 2008 and rates as one of the top five programmes for girls aged four to nine.
Hi-5 also has further broadcast slots on GMTV's Fluffy Club and GMTV 2's pre-school block.
A nationwide tour of theatres and other venues has been planned. The Hi-5 Surprise Party UK tour is presented by Andrew Kay and Associates with Stage Partners and is due to kick off in October. It will continue for two months at major venues throughout the UK and Ireland.
"The combination of fun, music and learning offered by Hi-5 has made it a brand with lasting popularity among children and parents in numerous markets," said Andrew Carley, head of licensing at E1 Entertainment. "The UK programme has already established a strong and growing audience and has clear potential in the licensing arena, making this an ideal addition to E1 Entertainment's portfolio of pre-school properties."
Hannah Mungo, licensing manager at E1, added: "E1 Entertainment is looking forward to working with potential licensees on this exciting property. Companies keen to know more should get in touch with me in the first instance at email@example.com."
