E1 Entertainment's Peppa Pig brand is partnering with national nursery chain, Busy Bees, with the aim of promoting healthy living to families.
The Busy Bees Early Years Change4Life campaign is a week of healthy, active events taking place at nurseries throughout July. One of the highlights will be a Peppa Pig triathlon to help raise funds for the character's official charity partner, Tommy's.
The triathlon will substitute the traditional sports of swimming, cycling and running with activies aimed at young children. These will include splashing in muddle pussles, riding a trike and running. Those who have yet to learn to walk can take part in a sponsored crawl.
In addition to the triathlon, every fundraising nursery will be entered into a prize draw to win a visit from Peppa. The highest fundraising nurseries will receive a pack of Peppa Pig goodies, while each child who raises sponsorship will receive a personalised thank you letter and a Peppa Pig magazine.
On the day, each child who takes part will receive a sticker and certificate.
"We are pleased to be working with Busy Bees on their Change4Life initiative and delighted that the Peppa Pig triathlon will help young children get excited about doing healthy activities," commented Andrew Carley, head of licensing at E1 Entertainment. "This is a fun and appealing way to raise money for Tommy's and also encourages families to lead a healthy, active lifestyle."
