As the tenth anniversary celebrations for the character continue, Nickelodeon has renewed a number of deals for Dora the Explorer in the publishing category.
Five key licensees - including Simon & Schuster and Egmont - have committed to long-term deals for the pre-school brand.
Master publisher Simon & Schuster is planning story, novelty and chapter books. In addition, Phidal Publishing (write and draw learning series, puzzle books and other novelty formats); Hinkler Books (interactive learning flash cards); Egmont (official magazine); and Redan (inclusion in compilation titles Fun to Learn Friends and Fun to Learn Favourites) have all re-signed.
"It is fantastic news, and truly reflective of Dora's evergreen status, that our key publishing partners have shown their long-term commitment to the brand," NVCP UK director of consumer products, John Vasta explained to Licensing.biz.
"We are having continued success with new formats for Dora, so this ongoing development will be key in growing the business with our partners."
