PUBLISHING MONTH: Licensing push planned for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

New York Times bestseller picked up by Dimensional Branding Group.

The rather impressive sounding book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - which has shifted enough copies to secure the number three slot on the New York Times Bestseller list - is to be given the licensing treatment, after Dimensional Branding Group picked up exclusive rights.

The San Francisco-based firm is licensing all categories, including stationery and calendars, apparel, accessories, interactive, novelties, collectibles and board games.

"Romance, heartbreak, brains: these are all key attributes for a successful licensing program," said John Leonhardt, president of DBG. "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has inspired an immediate and passionate connection with readers. This is a book that is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of pop culture."

Originally due to be released on June 1st, the Quirk Books title was brought forward due to pre-publication buzz and strong consumer demand. Over 200,000 copies are currently in print, while a sequel is being planned for October, followed by a deluxe hardcover edition in November. There is also talk of a film deal.
