Rainbow Productions readies for Easter weekend

Firm will take costume characters to retail and leisure events over the four-day Easter break.

Rainbow Productions is working with licensors to provide support at retail to licensed properties through character appearances including The Fat Controller visiting Smyths and Ben and Holly from Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom making in-store appearances at John Lewis.

Licensed character appearances have also been booked directly by shopping centres, heritage and leisure venues as a way of attracting increased family footfall over the period.

Shoppers visiting centres such as Westfield The Friary, Westfield Royal Victoria Place, Crystal Peaks in Sheffield, Surrey Quays, Dockside Chatham, the Palace Exchange in Enfield, Market Place and Newlands will also have an opportunity to interact with licensed children’s characters in a live environment.

As well as managing the personal appearances of of a number of characters, Rainbow Productions is also delivering enhanced character activities over the weekend, including an Angelina Ballerina Dance Workshop, a Driver Dan storytelling session, a Postman Pat and Jess the Cat Special Mission plus a Snoopy Workout.

To help celebrate the Royal Wedding on April 29th, the Little Princess will be joining shoppers at Byron Place in Seaham for activities in the centre.

In addition to the retail sector, many visitor attractions and racecourses will also be hosting licensed characters. Some of the venues featuring famous children’s brands as part of their special events programmes include Blenheim Palace (Peppa Pig & George and Ben & Holly), National Trust property Nunnington Hall (Paddington Bear), Towcester Racecourse (Bob the Builder and Wendy) and Severn Valley Railway (Postman Pat).
