Rainbow Productions is teaming up with a variety of licensors for half-term next week, with character appearances planned across the country as the industry builds towards Christmas.

The firm is working with Hit Entertainment, taking the Fat Controller on a tour of Smyths stores. The character will be appearing in-store Durham, Oldham, Gwynedd, St Helens and Telford.

Also touring Warner Estates' shopping centres over the break will be Kindle's Big and Small. The duo will be meeting and greeting shoppers at Bouverie Place in Folkestone, The Grange & Pyramids in Birkenhead, Middleton in Manchester, Market Place in Bolton and Fishergate in Preston.

As well as the meet and greets, Rainbow is also managing a number of licensed character stage shows during half-term.

Fireman Sam and Naughty Norman will be performing in Extra, Extra, Read All About It at Westfield Merry Hill on October 25th; Entertainment One has teamed up with Tumbletots to bring Peppa Pig and Ben & Holly to Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield on October 26th; and Chapman's Roary the Racing Car and Big Chris characters are performing a show at Gateshead's Metrocentre on October 28th (click here for full story).

Finally, to celebrate Halloween, Scooby-Doo will be visiting several shopping centres - including The Mall in Luton and Manchester's Stretford Mall - throughout the week.
