Iconic kids’ characters George, Bungle and Zippy are to feature in a new series of online slot games and scratchcards.
FremantleMedia has partnered with the digital content firm Blueprint Gaming to develop a new series of online games for its nostalgia brand, Rainbow.
The new deal will see the cast of the hit TV show feature in a slot game and a virtual scratchcard game that will be targeted at adults and featured on a number of major online gaming sites.
The games – inspired by the classic show that first screened on ITV in 1972 and ran for 19 years – are expected to launch in early 2016.
“The characters from Rainbow still have strong appeal for all of us that watched the series when we were younger,” said Simon Murphy, head o gaming at FremantleMediaUK.
“We are delighted to be joining forces with Blueprint to take George, Bungle and Zippy in a whole new direction online.”
Managing director at Blueprint Gaming, Matt Cole believes that the Rainbow brand is an ideal fit for the firm’s online operations.
“We are excited about creating great games with this classic brand,” he said. “Rainbow fits very well with the UK facing adult player base and we look forward to bringing the games to market in 2016.”
