Random House Enterprises is launching a humorous new art-led property from actress Jessie Cave.
Cave - who is best known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films - began a self-tasked mission in 2010: to post a doodle a day on Twitter to capture the hilarious, yet cynical, snapshots of relationships from their angst-ridden beginnings to all that might happen beyond.
Her illustrations will be published by Ebury Press in the book Love Sick in July.
RHE is representing the property to extend it into further product categories - including stationery and greetings, apparel, accessories and gifting, targeted at young women.
"Jessie's talents as an actress, comedian and writer clearly extend to being an artist," said Jo Edwards, head of licensing and brand development at Random House Enterprises. "Her illustrations, with their pithy and extremely funny take on modern-day dating, will resonate with everyone who has navigated the trials and tribulations of relationships and will work perfectly on a range of products aimed at young women."
Cave added: "I am so excited for the launch of my very personal and universally desperate doodle book Love Sick and am beyond thrilled to also be expanding my love-inspired comedic doodles to a wider merchandise line.
"I'm looking forward to working with companies to create products that celebrate love and friendship."
