RDF Rights has signed a host of production and renewal deals for its light entertainment format Don't Forget the Lyrics.
The series has now been produced in 18 territories worldwide since it launched in the US 18 months ago.
France 2 has commissioned a sixth series and produced a two-hour special, in which three celebrities raised money for Unicef.
The show will also arrive in two African territories in 2009. NTA in Nigeria is already in the studio, while state broadcaster ETV in Egypt is expected to start production later this year. Both networks are producing 52x60-minute shows. In Egypt, Don't Forget the Lyrics will be ETV's first international primetime production.
In addition to the new deals, the series has also been renewed by TV2 Denmark, Nova Croatia, Astro Malaysia and TVP2 Poland among others. The US version of the format also continues to sell worldwide including Australia, Sweden, South Africa and in the UK (pictured).
"It's a testament to the quality of the format that the show is going into new territories and continues to be re-commissioned throughout the world despite the economic downturn," said Barnaby Shingleton, head of light entertainment at RDF Rights.
"Broadcasters are increasingly relying on proven formats, and Don't Forget the Lyrics is a fantastic returnable franchise."
