RDF Rights adds Simon's Cat

Firm becomes UK licensing agent for online and viral hit.

United Agents has appointed RDF Rights as the UK licensing agent for online and viral hit, Simon's Cat.

Created by animator Simon Tofield, the Simon's Cat series has totalled over 51 million views on YouTube to date. One of the online films, Fly Guy, was the fifth most viewed UK video on YouTube in 2009.

In addition to this, the first Simon's Cat book entered the UK Bookseller Top 50, Amazon Top 20 and hit Play.com's number one spot for all books.

RDFR will be seeking licensees in a wide range of gifting categories. It is expecting the first product lines to launch at retail in quarter four 2010 to tie in with the launch of the second Simon's Cat book.
