RDF Kids & Family has secured a second series of Big Barn Farm, the Cbeebies show which follows the day to day adventures of farmyard animals using a combination of live-action and animation.

The firm has also confirmed key publishing deals and DVD partners with 2entertain, Penguin Books and BBC Magazines.

Big Barn Farm debuted on Cbeebies in March 2008 and became one of the channel's highest rating shows in spring. The series has been recommissioned by controller of Cbeebies, Michael Carrington.

2entertain will roll out the first DVD - Welcome to Big Barn Farm - in the autumn, while Penguin Books' imprint Ladybird Books will be launching storybooks and activity books in spring 2009.

BBC Magazines, meanwhile, will regularly feature Big Barn Farm in its pre-school titles, Cbeebies Weekly and Cbeebies Animals.

Rachel Barke, director of consumer products at RDF Kids & Family, said: "Big Barn Farm has already proven to be a big hit with animal-loving Cbeebies viewers, and our key partners are now working towards the development of some strong product to launch the brand at retail."
