RDF Kids & Family has inked a number of key TV licensing deals for Mister Maker, the arts and crafts show for pre-schoolers airing on Cbeebies.

The show was the Cbeebies' top rated of 2007, while the Cbeebies web pages were also a huge hit.

RDF's key partners include 2entertain, which is creating a Mister Maker DVD 'Let's Make It' for release in November, and Creativity International, which will be launching an arts and crafts line in the autumn.

Both launches will be supported by in-store appearances by Mister Maker.

In addition, RDF has signed deals with Dorling Kindersley and Penguin Books, with an activity books range available from spring 2009. RDFK is also working with BBC Magazines for Mister Maker to appear from the autumn in its new pre-school magazine Cbeebies Art.

A stand alone Mister Maker magazine will also launch in spring 2009.

"From the outset Mister Maker has been a huge ratings hit with kids, who love arts and crafts," said Rachel Burke, director of consumer products at RDF Kids & Family. "We're delighted to have signed up our key licensees who are committed to developing exciting, innovative products which are already in high demand from parents and kids."

Following its international launch at Mipcom last year, RDF Kids & Family has secured TV sales with Treehouse TV in Canada, Super RTL in Germany, Discovery Kids in Latin America, Hop! TV in Israel and Vision Entertainment in Kuwait.

Mister Maker has also been recommissioned by Cbeebies for two more series, each 20x15-minutes, to be broadcast in 2009. Last autumn, the first series debuted to a 34 per cent share for 0-6 year-olds (source: Broadcast).
