Revamped Inspector Gadget go-goes global with new broadcast deals

Inspector Gadget’s ‘go-go gadget arms’ have extended their reach across the globe as the brand new series has secured sales in multiple territories.

DHX Media has secured numerous broadcast deals for the new CGI series, a revamp of the original children’s cartoon.

Turner Broadcasting has picked up the series for its Boomerang channels across EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

The new series will see the bumbling detective go head to head with his nemesis, Dr. Claw, a criminal mastermind hellbent on taking over the world.

Inspector Gadget is joined by his niece Penny and her dog Brain, who together are the detective’s best chance of survival.

The new series was commissioned by Teletoon in Canada and will premiere on the network in 2015.

“Inspector Gadget is one of those classic properties that’s perfect for a contemporary version,” said Josh Scherba, SVP distribution at DHX Media.

“It combines humour, mystery and zany accessories that audiences the world over will wish they had. This series has been updated for the next generation of gadget-savvy kids and our deals with these new broadcast partners will ensure Inspector Gadget wil ‘go-go’ to new fans.”
