Following the success of the first series, DCD Media-owned September Films has been commissioned to produce season two of Richard Hammond's Blast Lab, the popular science-based CBBC game show.
This will bring the format to 52 episodes, which are being distributed by international distribution arm, DCD Rights.
September Films will also produce a special spin off series featuring cut downs of the location based stunts from the show.
"As a father myself, I'm really proud that Richard Hammond's Blast Lab has quickly established itself as a 'must watch' show for both children and their parents," said Peter Wyles, executive producer at September Films. "We are all delighted to be making another series. In fact, we are already working on lots of brand new explosive experiments, gunge-based games and fascinating science facts."
Merchandising around the show currently includes a best selling book, while comics, science toys and interactive categories are being explored.
