RMI signs The Hardy Bucks

Celebrity and entertainment licensing agency Rights Management International (RMI) has signed a key addition to its portfolio with The Hardy Bucks.

The Hardy Bucks is a film which evolved from a series of YouTube episodes that garnered eight million views.

Following the YouTube series, RTE picked up The Hardy Bucks and commissioned two television series which aired in 2010 -2011, attracting 200,000 viewers per episode.

Universal Pictures commissioned the big screen comedy and distributed the movie to the Irish market in February 2013, reaching number one at the Irish Box Office. The film came to the UK screens in November 2013.

RMI is now looking for licensing partners for The Hardy Bucks, with categories available including accessories, apparel, bath and body, food and drink, gift, games, publishing and stationery.

Universal Pictures will be releasing the second film, The Hardy Bucks 2 – Hard Down Under, in Autumn 2014.

The movie has been described as the 'Irish Hangover' and forms part of a major Universal Pictures Christmas TV advertising campaign.
