Rocket Licensing signs Walker Books for Q Pootle 5 TV tie-in titles

The firm also signs Blue Sky Designs for a range of stationery based on the popular pre-school animation

Walker Books has signed a global publishing deal to develop a series of TV tie-in books for the popular pre-school animation, Q Pootle 5.

The multi-year deal will see the firm publish the series of new titles under the new multi-media imprint Walker Entertainment.

The range will include paperback and hardback picture books, board books, sticker books, colouring and activity books and gift novelty books such as pop-up, lift-the-flap and pocket library editions.

With the first titles expected to arrive a retail in autumn, the range will also consist of Q Pootle 5 e-books and audio books.

In further Q Pootle 5 developments, Blue Sky Designs has signed with the brand to produce a range of licensed children's stationery.

The new products - scheduled to roll out this autumn/winter - will include pens, pencils, crayons, pencil cases and pencil tubes, as well as art sets, stickers, magnetic stickers, stampers, and activity, doodle and travel packs.

Walker and Blue Sky are the latest names to join a growing portfolio of licensees for the Q Pootle brand. Those already signed by Rocket Licensing, include Immediate Media for slots in CBeebies Weekly and Toybox magazines, Egmont, Jumbo for games and puzzles, VMC for accessories and Rainbow Productions for character costumes.

Further categories expected to be revealed shortly include toys and games, DVDs, apps, nightwear and underwear, apparel, accessories, lunch ware bags, creative play and science kits.
