The popular RPG title Summoners War is growing out its licensing efforts having secured a new partnership with the pop culture specialist, Funko.

Under the agreement, Funko will not only reimagine the Summoners War universe and its characters in the famous Pop! Vinyl form, but will also deliver a line of apparel, accessories and a range of digital products.

The roll-out is the result of a new partnership formed between Funko and the game’s publisher, Com2us, marking the first time a South Korean game firm has teamed with the merchandise specialist.

Funko has agreed to sell the product line across its online channels and mobile app, as well as third-party platforms.

“We are thrilled to be the first South Korean gaming company to team up with Funko and see their take on Summoners War’s iconic characters, said Casey Lee, CEO of Com2us USA.

“As Com2us continues its robust venture into merchandise licensing and entertainment media, we want to ensure the Summoners War brand is in the hands of creative minds that are at the vanguard of shaping trends and setting standards.

“Funko is a leader in the collectable space, so we are confident that this agreement will greatly enhance our licensing portfolio.”

The agreement with Funko is Com2us’ second high-profile signing since November 2017 and the announcement of its agreement with The Walking Dead creators, Skybound Entertainment.

“We strive to licence every pop culture property that we believe is relevant to today’s consumer and are thrilled to add this global top ten grossing mobile game to our roster,” added Andrew Perlmutter, president of Funko.

“As we continue to expand our broad offering of licensed pop culture consumer products, we believe Funko and mobile gaming fans alike will love our distinct and whimsical take on the Summoners War universe and their rich characters.”

Mass roll out for the new range will be available worldwide.
