The world’s first international Russian brand licensing programme is underway for supercar brand Marussia Motors.
Brand Extensions Russia JJP – a joint venture between JELC and PJB – will be showing off the supercar brand at Brand Licensing Europe next month.
Marussia Motors is the company behind the first supercar built in Russia and is also part of the British/Russian Marussia F1 team.
The firm built the MR01 racing car and has a controlling share in the British Virgin Racing team, which is now the Marussa F1 team. It wants to establish itself as a ‘major automotive force in Russia and the world’.
Marussia will join Ultimate Fighting Championship, Bamforth, Turizmo, Gem Fairies, Plain Lazy and more on the JELC/Brand Extensions Russia stand at Brand Licensing Europe.
Jane Evans, Brand Extensions Russia director, said: “Being the first licensing agency to build and develop a major Russian licensing programme for the global market is a real privilege — and this is a genuinely exciting licensing opportunity.
“We were looking for a Russian brand that would excite the licensing world and this stylish, sleek and speedy supercar brand really fits the bill.”
Marussia Motors president Nikolay Fomenko added: “We were delighted at the response to our fantastic new cars from both the public and specialist car aficionados.
"As trailblazers for a new and exciting direction for Russian car design, we’re looking forward to working with Brand Extensions Russia, whose directors are well-known and extremely well-connected, and to showing off a Marussia car at Europe’s most important licensing show.”
BLE runs from October 16th to 18th at London Olympia.
