Scholastic has appointed Sony Pictures Consumer Products as the official agent for the classic children’s book series, Goosebumps.
Together, the companies have revealed the initial list of seven confirmed licensees for the Goosebumps franchise as the consumer products programme is set to roll out with the second film, Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween.
Sony Pictures Consumer Products is also representing the licensing efforts for the films with the new film scheduled to hit cinemas on October 12 this year.
New Goosebumps licensees include Scholastic who will publish two official movie tie-in books for retail, Changes who will develop men’s and women’s apparel, Bioworld Merchandising for men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, accessories and desktop items, Mad Engine for apparel and accessories, KJMC Sportswear California for men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, Philcos Enterprise for apparel in Canada and Zinc International for in-cinema concession stands.
Written by R L Stine, Goosebumnps is the second best-selling children’s books series of all time, with more than 400 million books in print, 350 million in English and another more than 50 million internationally in 32 languages.
The popular books spawned a highly-rated live-action television series produced by Scholastic Media that first debuted in 1995.
